Bangkok 20th November 2009.

The trip to Bangkok for the first U-19 youth inter provincial competition in the history of cricket in Thailand was a great success for WDC boys, Pong played in all three games, bowling very accurately and Nikom played in two of the three games and picked up a "Man of the Match" award for some tight bowling and taking two wickets in one over, unfortunately Choo didn't make the team this time, but he is in the squad for the next competition in March 2010..The cricket tourament of 6 provincial boys U-19 teams and 4 provincial U-19 girls teams met at the A.I.T ground, Bangkok, in preparation for the Thai youth games to be held in Petchaburi in March 2010. The boys team rated second behind Khon Kaen, played in group B, winning their group games against Phuket and Petchabun, the latter very easily, hitting the required 27 runs in 3.3 overs. The match against Phuket was a little closer, chasing 50, Chiang Mai scored the winning run with 2 overs to spare. Nikom winning the match of the match award for some very straight bowling and picking up 2 wickets in one over. Pong also bowled well and took one wicket. With Khon Kaen winning the other group, it set up the perfect final, Bowling first Chiang Mai restricted the top seeded team to 60 runs, a really great team effort, fielding was sharp and consistant, Pong opened the bowling with Kaa from CCP, both bowled straight and accurate, Pong was the only player from WDC playing in the final and did a great job in helping restrict the total. In reply Chiang Mai didn't bat well and were soon 10 for 3 in just 4 overs, and never really recovered, finishing 12 runs short.
